manualApprovalThreshold set in its policy, Pay3 does not execute the transaction immediately. Instead, it places the transaction in the Pending Approvals queue and waits for you to review it. You decide whether to approve the payment — if you do, it executes on Stellar right away. If you take no action, the request expires on its own.
How transactions enter the approvals queue
Every time an AI session requests a transfer, Pay3 checks the requested amount against themanualApprovalThreshold in the session’s policy:
- At or below the threshold — the transaction is executed automatically without your intervention.
- Above the threshold — the transaction is held in Pending Approvals and the AI waits for your decision.
manualApprovalThreshold of $15, a $12 transfer executes automatically, but a $20 transfer lands in the approvals queue.
Reading the approvals list
Each pending approval card shows:Approving a transaction
1
Open the Approvals page
Click Approvals in the dashboard navigation bar. Any pending requests load automatically.
2
Review the transaction details
Check the amount, asset, recipient, and which AI session made the request. Verify that the payment matches something you’d expect your AI to be doing.
3
Click Approve
Click the Approve button on the transaction card. Pay3 immediately signs and submits the transaction to the Stellar network. The card disappears from the queue once the submission is confirmed.
The 2-minute expiry window
The 2-minute window is intentional. It keeps your approvals queue clean, ensures you’re actively monitoring high-value requests rather than rubber-stamping them later, and prevents transactions from sitting in an ambiguous pending state for extended periods. When a request expires, the AI assistant is notified of the rejection and will typically inform you (the user) that the transaction did not go through. You can ask the AI to retry the payment, which will generate a fresh approval request with a new 2-minute window.
Staying on top of approvals
If you frequently find yourself approving the same types of routine transactions, consider raising your policy’smanualApprovalThreshold to let those transactions execute automatically. Go to Policies, create a new policy with a higher threshold, then create a new session for your AI assistant using that policy.
